A smiling karako (boy) seems very happy to keep a cockeral in his arms. Averx detailed Netsuke, done with much skill and fine humour by the artist. Unsigned, mid 19th c. Hight 3,5 cm. From an old collection of about 500 Netsuke, built up in the sixties and seventies of last c. in Japan. Japanese Netsuke from the Edo period and therefore it was produced prior to 1947. In compliance with European Union regulations on ivory trade. Good condition, beautiful patina by much wearing The item comes with a certificate of authenticity which will be sent to the buyer.
