TESTED WORKING These WW2 Deutscher Kleinempfänger 1938 German Propaganda Radio made by RADIOFABRIK INGELEN. German war markers are visible on different parts. No cracks in the case. Nice piece of German technique with a size of 9.5 inch square and only 4.5 inches deep. The name means "German small radio." The DKE in the model designation stands for the words Deutscher Kleinempfänger and the 38 means the year of construction. The Kleinempfänger is designed to be simple and therefore inexpensive, so that as many Germans as possible could buy one. It only cost 35 Reichsmarks, about a week wage for an average employee at that time. In short, a brilliant propaganda radio. Germans gave it the nickname Goebbels ' Schnauze (Goebbels' snout), a nickname referring to the Minister of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda, whose voice was often heard over the ether.
