Beautiful very finely crafted bust of Manon Lescaut became famous by the book of A. Prévost and the opera of Puccini.
Arnaldo Gianelli was a master of sculpture and the president of the Alabaster Craft Guild from 1953 to 1961. He graduated from the Royal School of Arts and opened his studio in 1944 in Egregria in Volterra-Italy where he made alabaster statues for the Allies.
His famous pieces are: A bust of Dwight D. Eisenhouwer and a 3 meter tall totem for Boston University. The crown on his work, was his appointment as Cavaliere della Repubblica in 1970 by the Italian state.
