The original owner had lost 2 cards and made replacements. The ace of clubs has been modified with a simple change but the real winner is a 5 of clubs from a matching 52 card deck has been converted into the Jack, complete with a hand drawn portrait. This deck was obviously a favourite and it shows. A great quirky addition to any collection. A Brilliant set of French Antique playing cards. The deck is a 32 card Deck or Piquet Deck , As can clearly be seen they are somewhat faded and marked from their age The Portraits are classical design and each face card is marked with a historical figure, for instance the king of Diamonds represents 'Julius Cesar'. The reverse of the cards are a blue patterned field. A nice deck of old cards at least 100 years old. Each card measures approx. 8.5 cms x 5.5 cms
