From 1921 to the 1930s, Bücherer produced extraordinary metal dolls, patented, with a completely articulated body, using several techniques borrowed from machines and vehicles.
The Swiss were always well ahead of other craftsmen in working on delicate, mobile parts such as those found in watches, clocks and music boxes. Using articulations of finely-tuned metal balls and gears is similar to the precise work that the Swiss are famous for.
