Hand blown glass liqueur set, model Legras George Sand de Saint Denis. This is the famous motif "George Sand" (1804-1876), which can be found in the 1899 catalogue of "Verrerie Legras & Cie Saint Denis". Nickname of Amandine Aurore Lucile DUPIN, famous French novelist of the late 19th century, legend has it that the set of blue and amber glass that George Sand had in his castle of Nohant-Vic (Central region) was entrusted to him by Frederic Chopin in the early 19th century. It includes a carafe with cap (H 22 cm) and 5 glasses (H 8 cm), the tray (23 x 20 cm) is of a later manufacture (proposed in this lot because it harmonizes with the set). In very good condition of conservation except a tiny scratch on a glass, normal signs of age (see condition on detailed photos). Very careful and secured shipment, with tracking and signature upon delivery.
