"La vie est belle / le monde est laid" was one of NoR's first paintings when he left social media. Through his canvas, he wanted to show the difference between the message we show and the reality we live. Life is beautiful in appearance but when you look closely, the canvas is dirty and upside down (the reality part) is much darker. It is a canvas that has been exhibited suspended by a thread in order to see the two sides of the work that are completely in opposition.
It is also one of the few paintings made during the very short period when NoR signed on its true identity and not its artist name. He quickly returned to his alter ego after realizing his mistake.
NoR was born early 1980s in Belgium. He discovered graffiti at a very young age and it was with age that he naturally made the transition to the exhibition halls. Through his many travels, he developed different techniques and uses them in his works. In each of them, he tries to combine beauty and a strong message. Above all, NoR likes to recycle, recover and destroy... different objects such as the packaging of our over-consumerism society. His unique pieces are increasingly attracting galleries and collectors from all over the world.
