Brionvega Television TV ALGOL 11 First Series
In 1964 Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper designed Algol for Brionvega; this TV set was destined to radically change the existing canons and even the home environments it entered.
Thanks to its unmistakable lines it is one of the products representing Italian design in the 1960s; the TV Color Algol by Brionvega is exhibited in the most famous museums of the world, including the prestigious Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
Algol is characterised by the inclined and rounded screen, the removable metal handle and the brilliant plastic shell in three colour variants: red, black and yellow.
The first Algol 11 series is displayed at MoMA in New York and is the same colour as this lot.
Awarded with the gold medal at the second Ljubljana Biennial in 1965
