Sabre of a superior officer of the English cavalry. Lovely piece from the early 19th century. The guard is made of ivory and bronze. A small crack in the ivory is visible on the right side of the inner handle. The part of the guard in brass is finely chiselled and the blade is engraved with the coat of arms of the English Crown. The sheath is in very good condition. Just a small bump to the lower sheath on the right side, no doubt due to use and age. The sword dates from the 1860s. it weighs 1.350 kg and measures 99 cm. The guard matches its magnificent strap.
