The attachment of a roman situla is in the the lower part in shape of a vine leaf and the upper part depicts the head of a duck. It has a terrific, colorful patina. The artefact was found in Pannonia Superior, probably in Carnuntum.
Provenance: collection of Dr. E, acquired by him in Vienna in the mid of the 1990s from an owner of an old collection of archaeological artefacts found in Pannonia Superior.
A similar artifact was found in Carnuntum and is registered under inventory number 12999 in the "3D Kulturdatenbank der Landessammlungen Niederösterreich", which is available on the Internet.
The item comes with an export license issued by the "Bundesdenkmalamt der Republik Österreich".
