Unique and large Decorative Plate, made of opalescent glass with white and blue reflections, enriched with relief decorations, with a floral motif and a large central design, depicting Phoenix / Bird of Paradise.
Signed ‘D'Avesn’ on back (see details in pictures), made by the master glassmaker Pierre D'Avesn, a French artist hired at the age of 14 at the school of René Lalique, of which he was a pupil, from whom he learned the art of glass decoration and for which he designed the Lalique Serpent and the Turbillons models, in the following years. He later worked for the Daum and Verlys houses. The realization of the object can be dated between the 1920s and 1930s.
Please note the decorations that adorn the plate, all handmade in typical "Art Deco" style.
The item comes from a private collection, it was bought in the 80s/90s by a Tuscan antique dealer specialised in Art Nouveau. In excellent condition despite its age, the only minor flaws are two small chips on the edge and a superficial scratch on the base (as shown in pictures).
The pictures show the item in detail and are an integral part of the description. Please note how artificial or natural lighting changes the colours of the item.

Nice carafe but without any certificate...
