Description - an oval hand-coloured stipple engraving, Cupid binding Aglaia after Angelica Kauffmann R.A. (Chur 1741 – Rome 1807) by Irish engraver and painter Thomas Burke (Dublin 1749 – London 1815) entitled 'Cupid binding Aglaia', asleep semi-nude maiden reclining against a rock, Cupid tying her right arm, with the mountainous landscape in the background, inscription below image 'Angelica Kauffman Pinx - Thos: Burke Fecit' mounted, covered with glass in gilt gesso decorative frame, circa 1784.
Condition - very good uncut original preserved condition, age related discoloration marks around engraving, frames - very good condition
Dimensions - oval 34.3x27.5cm, frames 65.4x60.4cm, weight 4.10kg
