Il Valpolicella Superiore "Maternigo" dei Fratelli Tedeschi nasce nell’omonimo vigneto, su un appezzamento di terreno che presenta caratteristiche in termini di suoli, esposizione e risposte delle piante in grado di definirlo un vero e proprio cru. Nel vigneto Maternigo troviamo anche l’Impervio, un piccolo appezzamento di terreno dalla forte pendenza che viene condotto in regime biologico; qui troviamo un’alta presenza di marne bianche e gialle che trasferiscono a questo Valpolicella una freschezza davvero importante, senza mai dimenticare l’equilibrio necessario.
Qui ogni singola pianta viene monitorata e la maturazione viene seguita giorno per giorno, con una selezione attenta delle uve in fase di diradamenti e vendemmia che consente di dar vita a un vino fruttato e speziato, dagli aromi concentrati e dalla freschezza tipica di questi vitigni. Corvina, Corvinone e Rondinella, in percentuale variabile da annata in annata, dopo essere state vendemmiate vengono lasciate fermentare per 20 giorni, prima di riposare per 14 mesi in botti di rovere di Slavonia e rimanere 6 mesi in bottiglia.
