Bertin - Race bicycle - 1975

Brake Weinmann, gear Shimano 600. Wheel diameter 68 cm. Frame 48 cm. André Bertin was a French professional cyclist, team manager and entrepreneur. His life included the pre-WW1 period to almost the end of the 20th century. Many of his accomplishments were achieved in the production of bicycles and his distribution company. Bertin was born on 3 March 1912 in the rural municipality of Ecques in the region of Nord Pas de Calais (northern France), near the Belgian border. It is located about 50 km northwest of Arras. The municipality remains relatively small even today (population of 1900), this may be due to its large rural location and the fact it was completely destroyed and then rebuilt after the war. Location: Geraardsbergen, Belgium.
