NWA 4482 Pallasite meteorite with big olivines - 14.1 g
Pallasites are considered by many to be the most beautiful type of meteorite. They are thought to originate at the core-mantle boundary of differentiated asteroids, where the metallic core meets the lighter rocks. They were then shattered to space through another meteorite impact until they fell on Earth.
In this auction a NWA 4482 meteorite is offered. It was first recognized as a meteorite in 2006 and it comes from a undisclosed area in Algeria. It can be kept as an example of complete pallasite or cut if desired to observe the iron matrix with olivines.
This particular specimen weighs 14,1 grams. Some orange and translucent olivines in the surface can be seen in the pictures.
Certificate of authenticity included.
Packages are usually sent on Friday morning, after the auction. Shipping is combined in all my listings - if you win multiple items, only one shipping cost is paid.
