For sale is a Prussian cavalry sabre M 1852 with the same number scabbard and sabre with the following data. The "Kavalleriesäbel M 1852", also called a “basket-hilted sword”, was supposed to replace the old “Blücher” sword from 1811. It was intended to serve as the standard side arm of dragoons, Hussars and lancers. This new basket-hilted sword was supposed to offer a better protection for the hand of the user. In addition, the new blade was designed to be suitable for cutting as well, not just for thrusting, like the old type of sword. Country of origin: Germany Manufacturer: F. A. For sale is a Prussian cavalry sabre M 1852 with the same number scabbard and sabre with the following data.
