He was born in VENICE and when he was orphaned at 10 years old, he was sent to religious school. Luciano's talent was recognized by two distinguished sculptors of the time, Volta and Alessandro Magionni. These two artists took him under their wings and in 1975, Cazzola founded his own studio with painter Sergio Traforetti
