Up for auction: A Prussian cavalry sabre M 1811 with scabbard. This sabre is a witness to the time and was present at the Battle of Hanau on 31 October 1811 after the withdrawal from the Battle of Nations near Leipzig. (Engraving on the required tin location) Early M 1811 bear no acceptance stamps. It was not until about 1831 that the year was struck on the back of the blade. From 1850, the Prussian acceptance stamps were on.
