When a bid is placed in the last minute of the auction, extra bidding time is added to the clock. This is to reflect what happens in a real life auction, where those who are determined to win the lot have a chance to place the winning bid.

This Fana Metaal / D3 / Paul Schuitema armchair has been restored and is for sale!

The armchair has been restored, deliberately in the original way. That means just like the chair was once manufactured: with jute cushions, filled with eelgrass surrounded by blue cotton wool.

The chair is upholstered witih Botero fabric from Kirkby/Romo. A
classical fabric with a hint of modern, colour matching the armrest and a very nice effect in the light.

The frame has been cleaned and the springs in the seat (typical Paul Schuitema springs) have been changed. This results in a quite "sturdy' seat because of the higher tension. The chair will need to be used for a while.

The chrome shows the age (craquelure and a few spots)
The wooden armrests have been sanded and finished with oil

A rare chair that is certainly showing its age. Over 80 years old. With the seating comfort from that period.
A true collector's item. With a photo series of the restoration process.

The chair can be round in the book 2100 Metal Tubular Chairs by Otokar Macel.

Please pick-up the chair or organise the transport yourself at your won risk.
