Repro Émile Gallé. - Lamp (1) - Glass, metal
A reproduction after the famous lamps of Émile Gallé.
Emile Gallé (Nancy, 4 May 1846 - 23 September 1904) was a French glass maker and furniture designer whose home base was his place of birth. His favourite motif, which he used frequently, was the plant. Also featured many insect motifs.
Gallé also made use of various techniques for his lamps. This lamp shows a nice example of imposed glass, made with templates. A unique way at the time for works of art which for a long time was exclusively used by Gallé. Gallé often applied the imposed glass method in lamps.
The lamp is completely flawless, has a red copper fixture, matching the vines. The sizes are: approx. 30 cm high, the shade has a diameter of approximately 16 cm, the base of approx. 11 cm
