These two books by the FSA photographer Margaret Bourke-White (best known for her 1937 documentary photobook You Have Seen Their Faces ) are excellent examples of her postwar work.
Dear Fatherland Rest Quietly, is a powerful account of her experiences with the Allied armies as they occupied a shattered Germany in the immediate aftermath of WW2.

Halfway to Freedom is a profusely illustrated account of her experiences in India as it gained independence from Britain. Her strong documentary photographs illustrate the turmoil of the birth of 2 new nations.

Condition: Both first edition copies are in very good condition, some slight dents to tops of spines, both dust jackets present (slightly torn) and protected by archival mylar covers. Four pages in Halfway to Freedom have not been cut properly at the top by the publisher - the purchaser can decide if they want to cut them. Name written on map. Please look at listing photos.
