United States of America - Winchester - 1893 - slide action - Centerfire - Shotgun - 12 gauge

From my collection, an antique black powder American Winchester. An antique black powder American Winchester Model 1893, 12 gauge pump action. 30 inch barrel in very good condition + + the pump action acts properly and goes smoothly. Mechanically in top condition. First series production. Condition barrel is also very good. Suitable for collector and/or black powder shooter. After payment it will be packed and sent with utmost care. Additional information. The Winchester Model 1893 Slide Action Shotgun was designed and patented by the Browning Brothers and was the first successful shotgun with pump action. It was introduced in May 1893, and was manufactured until July 1897. It was made in bad calibre 12. The production of the model 1893 was relatively short because the action proved to be too weak when smoke-free ammunition was introduced in the mid-1890s. This design flaw was corrected with the introduction of the Winchester Model 1997 Slide Action Shotgun. The total production for Model 1893 was 34,176 rifles. On special order luxury checkered butts could be provided. Damask steel barrel, and not standard Loo lengths. A tilt rifle with a 20 inch rolled steel barrel was also available. Original Winchester Factory documentation is available for this model at the Cody Firearms Museum in Cody, Wyoming. From serial number 1 to 34050. Because the Winchester 1893 was too weak for the modern nitro cartridges, this model 1893 was replaced by a reinforced version of the model 1897. The models 1893 already sold could be handed in at Winchester and a revamped 1897 was returned.
