Christien Meindertsma - Door stop (3) - Pigeon Service

Christien Meindertsma designed a permanent installation with 200 pigeons for the Texture Flax Museum (Kortrijk, BE). The travel and espionage pigeons, that were locked up during the First World War in the building of the Linen Thread Company, the current Texture Vlasmuseum, were her inspiration. The coloured pigeons are made of woollen fabric (Kvadrat Canvas 2) and the pigeons are filled with flax seed. In addition to being able to serve as a door stop, it makes for a nice gift. The pigeon comes with a "spy letter" on which you can write a message. The piece of paper can be rolled up and placed in the bag on the side.
