Jannis Kounellis * 23 March 1936 in Piraeus; † 16 February 2017 in Rome. Greek artist, co-founder of the Arte Povera movement Internationally most important contemporary Greek artist. University of Fine Arts Athens, 1956 moved to Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome. He lived and worked in Rome until his death in 2017. His works have been exhibited in the world's most renowned art institutes and are among the most sought-after collectors' items. Drypoint etching and line etching from a zinc plate, printed on 310 grams litho from Cartiera Enrico Magnani in Pescia. 26.9 x 20.1 cm panel size, 44 x 32 cm sheet size. Edition size of 130 copies, numbered with Arabic numerals, hand signed copies. Here no. 124/130 from the numbered edition. The graphic includes a title page, an imprint and accompanying text by Thomas Kunst; the text plates are stored in a bag on the back of the frame. Original frame, unopened in good condition!
