|Material:||Plaster, Resin/Polyester, Stone (mineral stone)|
|Country of Origin:||Egypt|
|Condition:||Good condition - used with small signs of aging & blemishes|
A nice reproduction of a fragment of the face of a Queen from Egypt, probably from Middle Egypt, Amarna (Akhetaten), in good condition. The original piece can be seen in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC.
Period: New Kingdom, Amarna period
Dynasty: Dynasty 18
Reign: Reign of Akhenaten
Date: c. 1353–1336 BC
Material: Yellow jasper stone
Dimensions: Height 23 cm x Width 20 cm x Depth 14 cm. Foot diameter 16 cm.
This remarkable fragment comes from a sculpture that consists of various materials. The back of the piece shows remnants of a pin that connects to the body of the sculpture which is perhaps made of Egyptian alabasterwith the purpose of presenting white clothing. Two headdresses perhaps suit this head: the khat head cloth or the Nubian wig. It is impossible to identify with certainty the royal woman that is represented here. It is hard to imagine that the old queen Tiye - mother of the Akhenaten and highly respected as a wise woman in Amarna - was portrayed as a beauty with such a sensual character. Queens Nefertiti and Kiya are, however, both possible subjects.
Condition in line with age and use e.g. small stains, slightly scratches and traces of wear. Examine the pictures carefully for a good impression of the offered lot.

Love the lamps!
All right, thank you
Very pleased with an eco friendly bag made from recycled soda tabs. The aluminum is sewn together quite well. It's so cool. Maybe next time though try wrapping in paper. Great service!
Received promptly and well packed. Lot just as described: many thanks.
