Longines was founded in the year 1867 in Saint-Imier, Es Longines ("Long Meadows") by Ernest Francillon. In same year 20A, the first own movement, was produced. This 20-line caliber was having an anchor escapement, pendant winding and setting mechanism. In same 1867 it wins an award in Paris at Universal Exhibition. On par with Patek Philippe, Longines is famous in history of Swiss watches as producer of the best and most reliable chronograph movements. Not everybody knows this but that's naked truth!
