There were two Thomann brands competing in the 1920s, Alphonse Thomann in Nanterre (usually represented by an elephant) and Jean Thomann whose head office was in Paris and the factory in Montreuil sous-Bois, for some time manufactured by Fauvarque, then administered by Fletcher, represented by a gorilla, synonymous with strength.
