Leaf enamel brooch by David Andersen / Willi Winnaes Norway in sterling silver, slightly gold-plated. Collector's brooch in high quality condition & finish from 1950. David Andersen was founded in Oslo, as a manufacturer of gold and silver jewellery and other objects in 1876. At the beginning of the 20th century, enamelling was introduced, and was so successful that enamelled jewellery became almost synonymous with the name of the company. Willy Winnaess designed leaf designs in brilliant glazes for David Andersen, which became a hallmark of Winnaess' designs. Although Winnaess had his own Oslo workshop (from 1941 to 1978), he designed for David Andersen.
