Netherlands and overseas - Dolk bajonet " Hembrug " M95 type - Koninklijk Nederlands-Indie leger ( KNIL) - Bayonet
Original dagger bayonet with leather sheath.
Destined for the Royal Dutch Indies Army (KNIL) especially for the Mannlicher carbine cavalry M 1895.
On the blade "HEMBRUG" in capital letters and "JB with crown", inspectors mark L. Brossois in gothic letters. Furthermore, no inscriptions, so that it may be assumed that this bayonet was one of the first models.
Bayonet with double sided cutting surface and well working pushbutton.
The first models of these bayonets were offered with steel sheaths. These caused a rattling sound (against the klewang) and were therefore disapproved. This original leather sheath is 10 cm too long and came from another model bayonet, but then met as a good alternative. The sheath is marked at the back with various stroke numbers and strikethroughs to meet the number of the carbine.
