Betel box.
The lid is extremely beautifully made and richly decorated with detailed leaves and floral motifs.
Made around the turn of the century according to the traditional Khmer silverware method.
Each box is handmade and then hand- hammered in relief on metal.
These boxes were traditionally used to store Betel leaves, nuts, tobacco and/or ointments.
Is nicely fully hallmarked and features silver hallmark T90%, which stands for 90% silver and 10% copper.
Also provided with master mark of the maker of the box.
The box has a width of 4.2 cm and has a weight of 16.1 grams.
The box is in a particularly beautiful, intact condition without any dents and the lid closes perfectly.
The box is a striking and extremely decorative object due to its lavish tooling.
Possibly also suitable as pill box.
