Colorful lithographs of birds according to John Gould (20) - Paper
I offer 20 reprints of lithographs drawn by a 19th-century English researcher, ornithologist and artist - John Gould, and by his fellow researchers (names in signatures of the lithographs). John Gould published a number of richly illustrated monographs on birds. He was recognized as the father of ornithology, among others, in Australia. Charles Darwin refers to the Gould's works in his book “On the Origin of Species”. John Gould was particularly interested in hummingbirds - a few lithographs depict this group of birds. A fairly numerous group of lithographs depict parrots and other birds, please look at the photographs that are an integral part of the description.
