Lido Bettarini - Costiera Amalfitana

ORIGIN: France, Cannes. PERIOD: 1970. STYLE: very remarkable, high-quality, landscape, post-impressionist. MATERIALS: oil on canvas. ARTIST: Work signed on bottom right and on the back. SIZE: 50 x 70 cm. CONDITION: very good, no defects. WORKS: none. NOTES: very remarkable painting, beautifully deep and very remarkable technique. High quality and by a great painter. Beautiful and valuable painting depicting a landscape of the Amalfi coast. Work by the great master from Florence Lido Bettarini, very remarkable and original vintage work. LIDO BETTARINI (Sesto Fiorentino, 1927) has been strongly attracted by drawing and painting since he was a boy. He comes from a family of ceramists, so at a very young age he was introduced to his father’s work, later becoming a worker at Richard Ginori and introduced in the environment of the renowned Tuscan crafts. His remarkable artistic sense and talent were immediately expressed in the creation of models, even though his imagination led the artist to search for freer spaces. So he started attending Gino Pozzi’s studio, who encouraged him by enrolling him in the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, where he attended the Nude School for three years and graduated. Lido Bettarini studied the painting of the great masters in Florentine museums, but he was also attracted by modern art. He visited the studios of various artists, including those of Ottone Rosai and Settala. He has always travelled, staying in Italy and abroad in search of new images and suggestions, so much so that he went to live on the French Riviera. The artist is a painter of Tuscan landscapes with endless variations on the theme of the Tuscan countryside with its villages and towns. He also loves painting seascapes, often depicting sailing vessels at sea, having a glimpse of the coast and some seaside villages in the distance, from Cannes to Portofino to the Amalfi Coast and beyond. His works also include many still lifes.
