Paul Klee was a painter and teacher of German origin but of Swiss cultural identity, born in 1879 and died in 1940.
He was a world-renowned artist, a painter of dreams and a magician of imagery. These are his notes for the courses he taught at the Bauhaus in Weimar. Pedagogical explanations, analyses of tables, sketches and graphs that accompany the text, highlight the sequence of ideas and help to present the whole in all its clarity; and one sees that a close connection is forged between his theoretical thinking and his artistic creation.
The second book emphasises that nature becomes his source of inspiration and helps guide the artist. The abstract figures that emerge from the artist's hand are therefore intimately linked to his understanding of the laws of nature.
