Outstanding centrepiece in solid silver, from the Italian Art Nouveau period. It’s been finely crafted in the shape of two large sized putti holding an Art Deco shell shaped bowl. Both putti rest on a base with wave shaped feet. The bowl shows two shell shaped handles.
High quality item of artistic value, made using the lost wax casting technique. It’s therefore a one of a kind piece, and a masterpiece of the Italian silverware school from the beginning of the 20th century.
Hallmarks (on a base side): silver fineness 800, silversmith logo F.C., silversmith mark 276 MI (Francesco Caputo, active in Milan since 1938).
