A porcelain sculpture from Limoges depicting the Statue of Liberty, mounted on a wooden pedestal with a copper inscription plate:
‘Maxim's des Mers'/ inaugural cruise - Croisiere Inaugurale / Monte Carlo - New York / 25 May - 18 June / Chastagner - Limoges - France / d'apres Bartholdi, no. 238. .
The sculpture is made in limited edition for the commemoration of the inaugural cruise of the luxury ship Maxim’s des Mers, that sailed to the Port of New York to celebrate the centennial of the Statue of Liberty. The sculpture was designed by Pierre Cardin.
It is 52 cm tall including the base.
Limited edition.
In good condition with minimal signs of age (some minor stains).
