Capron was a professor of Applied Arts and was interested mostly in designing. He discovered ceramic work in Vallauris before Picasso and created the Callis workshop with Robert Picault. He founded his own workshop in 1952 and sold his collections in the United States to the department store Saks Fifth Avenue.
