Glazed ceramic vase of geometric shape consisting of two eccentric truncated cones placed on top of each other, surmounted by a cylindrical neck and resting on a cylindrical base.
The top cylinder is coated with black crater enamel with orange drips.
The vase body is coated with orange enamel.
The inside of the neck is covered with cobalt blue enamel.
Max Modolo produces these ceramics in his studio in Italy.
His research concerns both the forms of ceramics and their finish.
He is very interested in the effects of ceramics and enamels obtained by some Italian artists such as Guido Gambone and Marcello Fantoni and has always been attracted by the shapes created by Lucie Rie.
Recently he became interested in German ceramics from the 1960s and 1970s, known as Fat Lava ceramics.
