Ancient angels in wood and papier mache - Gilt, Papier-mache, Wood - Ca. 1800
Antique angels made of wood, papier-mâché and gold leaf.
From a series of wooden angels of a collection from Tuscany, school of craftsmanship that was an Umbrian-Tuscan workshop, and date back to the late 1700s/early 1800s.
Other similar angels can be found in the church of San Miniato, presumably coming from the same ancient workshop.
Dimensions: approx. 45 x 20 cm
Intact and in excellent condition, the polychromy was integrated and partially recreated following a restoration.
They are extraordinary when seen in person.
