Large 'tea tile' with relief.
The front has a representation of a central triumphal arch with a large tree on either side. In addition, there are five stars and Chinese text. The back has a representation of sixteen rectangular boxes with the Buddhist 'endless knot' symbol.
The production of tea tiles originated during the Ming dynasty. In China, Tibet and Mongolia, among others, it served as currency. In addition, they were traded and exported to various countries.
The usual minor wear.
