Mainline History: These Bavarian locomotives of the Series B VI were developed and built by Maffei and for a long time they formed the back-bone of the Königlich Bayerische Staatseisenbahnen (K.Bay.Sts.B). The Series BR B VI consisted of both peat-fired and coal-fired versions. In the period from 1863 to 1871 a total of 107 units of this locomotive were built that were deployed with express and mail trains.
