Talbot - Samba Rally gruppo B - 1983

When we talk about Group B, we immediately think of big and very powerful cars driven by legendary heroes. It was the most spectacular and wild category in rally history in the 1980s. The cars were powerful and very fast and many became popular for their victories, like the legendary models Lancia 037, S4, Delta, Audi quattro sport, Peugeot 205 T16, Renault 5 Maxiturbo. But among these spectacular cars there were as many examples of beautiful and titled cars that for one reason or another did not remain in the hearts of people, probably because of their disappointing results. After the success in rallies of the Simca 1000 and the Talbot Sunbeam, PSA launched the Samba Rallye. A special B model of the Rallye group, officially called Peugeot Talbot Sport Samba Rallye, preceded the following Peugeot 205 T16. The Talbot Samba rally, on a Peugeot 104 base, was made by the PSA group in the former Simca factory in Poissy, France, and marketed with the brand Talbot. It was the only Talbot not inherited by Chrysler Europe but designed by the PSA group. It was also the last Talbot in production. Its disappearance in 1986 was actually the end of the Talbot car brand. The Samba rally is equipped with the XW 1219 cc version of the X engine, with a power of 66 kW (90 HP); it is available in both white and red, with a scoop and side strips. The model for sale was made and registered for the first time in 1983 as a Talbot Samba Rally. It has number plates and documents of origin, 120,000 total km since it was new. It has official modifications of the group B/9, with tuned engine, HELLA and CIBIE headlights, lightened welded body, 10-point roll cage, front and rear stabiliser bars, filter extension, monocoque bucket seats, dedicated wiring, towing points. Equipped with the original engine uprated to 120 HP, rally cylinder head, machined and polished ports, 2 Weber DC 40 carburettors with horns and airbox. Fiches to be renewed. Decals of origin still on the front bar. Availability of all the original spare parts to bring it back to the road. Regularly inspected (expiration: 2020) and insured, available for any test in Bari. Documents in order and ready for a change of ownership.
