He decided to leave Salento to move elsewhere in search of new cultural stimuli. In the mid-1930s he moved to Naples to attend courses at the Royal Institute of Art, where in May 1941 he got his diploma to qualify as a teacher in the art schools and institutes of the Kingdom for Decorative Sculpture”.
