Heather landscape with woods and fens on the Friezenberg in Rijssen. The mountain is located in the nature reserve De Borkeld, on the heath near Markelo between the neighbourhood Elsen and Herike. The painter Albert Wessels has been drawing and painting since his childhood. Through self-study and the Groninger drawing school, he developed his art further. From 1967 he settled in his place of birth, Rijssen, as a painter. He preferred painting and working in nature, and would finish work based on sketches and studies in his studio. Exhibitions of his work were included in, among others, Sauerland, Oberhausen, Israël Rijssen, Stavoren, Barendrecht, Rotterdam Ouddorp and Sliedrecht. Assessed value €1450.--
