Beautiful painting by artist, Jacob Willem Gruijter. Amsterdam 1856-1908 Egmond aan Zee. Jacob Willem Gruijter worked in his hometown of Amsterdam. And later in his hometown Egmond aan Zee. He specialised in the paintings of sea and river views with ships and thus followed in his father’s footsteps and teacher W. Gruijter Jr. In the period 1877-1903, his work was regularly seen at the annual exhibition of ‘Levende Meesters’, in Amsterdam, The Hague, Groningen and Rotterdam. - This work is signed on the bottom left (see photos). - Ships at sea. - The painting is in neat condition. (Could do with a cleaning.) And a bit of craquelure. (See photos.) - The dimensions of the panel are 30 cm wide x 25 cm high. - The dimensions of the original frame are 37 cm wide and 31 cm high. - The frame is in reasonably nice condition. (See photos.) The painting will be carefully packaged and sent by registered mail.
