Offered is a particularly good condition Gibson model DY “Army Navy” mandolin. Made in Kalamazoo (USA) at the time of the First World War for the American soldiers stationed in Europe.
Very nice to play; low string height. The neck is straight as an arrow and no cracks. Beautiful ‘woody’, but warm, voluminous sound, the sustain is remarkably large. Strung with D’Addario strings and including tweed hard case.
A rare copy which is in exceptionally good and playable condition.
