Elva Courier MK2, the last version to be built by Elva before being bought off by Trojan. Original round tube car that has raced and is also road legal and correctly road registered since Dec 1960 with registration certificate in my name.

The Courier success as a race car is stunning. In 1960's sports car racing, Courier's were a favorite alternative for those who wanted something appreciably lighter than an M.G. or Triumph. Probably the most famous Courier driver was a young Mark Donohue, who campaigned his Courier MK2 quite successfully throughout the mid-Atlantic states. Couriers were driven to many victories two SCCA championships. It won the SCCA F Prod Championship in 1960 and the SCCA E Prod Championship in 1961.
Mark Donohue described the Courier as being "perfectly balanced with no understeer or oversteer characteristics. Four-wheel drifts could be set up and maintained with ease".

The car still has its original brass Elva chassis plate and matching chassis number. It currently runs a 1800cc BMC engine with hot cam and single side draught Weber carburetor, mated to the MGA four-speed close ratio gearbox.

Chassis was inspected and engine compression tested, found to be very sound. Recently serviced, comes with new wiring loom, alternator, ignition system and tyres. Bodywork and interior genuine and sound, with an original patina.

Elva designed the Courier for racing keeping possibility for road use. It can be used for all sorts of events. The Courier racing history in the 60’s includes Sebring 12h, Le Mans 24h, Goodwood.

This Courier is very genuine and eligible for many interesting international historic car events. Historic racing, rallying and hill climbs or shows. It can currently be seen and picked up in Béthune, France.
