For sale: an extremely rare Royal Fabric racing bike from the middle of the 1930s with wooden rims and a Super Champion 3-speed derailleur (the first derail derailleur in the Tour de France from 1937). Size: Horizontal tube axis to axis: 57 cm. Vertical tube axis-to-axis: 54 cm. History: The Royal-Fabric brand was founded in 1910 by Barbier in Saint-Etienne, France. The company was sold in 1931 to the Simon brothers, from Objat in Corrèze (France), who kept the name of the company and the Saint-Etienne address until 1934. Royal-Fabric equipped many racing cyclists, first as an individual sponsor from 1925 to 1927, then as a team sponsor from 1949 until 1957. Jacques Vivier (1930-1957), for example, with the Royal-Fabric brand, ranked in many races. Traces of this company can still be found in the 1960s. Location: Toulouse, France.
