The 1985 from Emidio Pepe is a superb wine showing all of the unique character of this Estate. These wines are living, breathing and evoling, they have a soul and life all their own, and they are a bit rustic to some, especially those whose paltes have been weaned on brught fruit drivien powerfol new world styles of wine. They need time in the glass, time to contemplate, and there is some bottle varitaion within vintages, but they are extremely rewarding and delicious, the 1985 drinking great and at its prime of life with leathery dried cherry, earth, and game notes.
