The "Promis" red wine is designed, produced and signed by Angelo Gaja in the Bolgheri area. After really tracing and building the history of Barbaresco in Piedmont, bringing it widely in the world, Gaja has accepted the challenge of producing great wines in Tuscany. Its goal is to create elegant wines of great excellence, able to communicate the extraordinary talents of the Italian territory in the world.
The "Promis" is produced in the Ca 'Marcanda winery, owned by Angelo Gaja in Tuscany. It is obtained from red grape varieties, mainly international but enriched by a point of territoriality: the Merlot is present for 55%, Syrah for 35%, and finally, the native Sangiovese, present for 10% . The excellence of this Tuscan red wine is the result of careful and meticulous work that begins in the vineyard, continues during the harvest, thanks to a strict selection of the best grapes, and then in the cellar, where the slow, spontaneous and invasive. Following fermentation, the wine ages for 18 months in French oak barriques, naturally stabilizing and reaching a good expressive maturity.
The "Promis" Ca 'Marcanda shows a wine with an intense ruby red color. The nose reveals a deep and complex soul that first introduces ripe red fruit and dark pulpy drupes, to then leave room to the entrance of toasted and spicy hints, with pleasant and very fine notes of licorice and goudron. On the palate it is warm and full-bodied: it envelops and seduces the senses while maintaining freshness and tannin. The overall picture is finely managed in a refined game of taste-olfactory balance. Persistence is long and intense. This is the clear proof of how the fineness of a wine can be declined in a form of austerity, always maintaining a good drinkability.
