Cute orchestra of various jazz musicians. Consisting of approximately 15 separate figurines, made of Parastone. Beautifully finished with eye for detail. Figurines are between 10 and 18 cm high and in good, undamaged condition. The piano is signed/engraved and is also a music box, which can be operated with the key on the back. Jazz is an improvisation-based music style, influenced by West African rhythms. It originated in the Afro-American community of New Orleans, from a cross-fertilisation of ragtime, blues, folk and negro spirituals. Originally the word jazz meant a "very energetic dance".
